Why cant I find my old diagnosticum files?
Diagnosticum is still on your computer unless you Specifically asked for them to be removed. Look on your desktop for a “shortcut” labeled “old diagnosticum files”. Double click on this icon and you can access your old files. This is now a free standing program that in no way communicates with POSoft 3.0. You may import new x-rays or models to process, but numbers cannot be imported to POSoft. Manual entry of the numbers into the POSoft ceph tab is the method to transfer. The last number entered manually will not be read by the computer when designing an IP appliance.

An IP appliance design question does not work
Check to see if you are in “custom designed appliance”. Once one bracket or band is custom selected from the list of possible brackets, the “logic” does not work unless you return to “computer generated appliance.

Cannot find the instruction manual
The instruction manual is on your computer, and can be accessed by “right click the start button” on the lower left corner of your screen. Next left click on explore. Under “Drive C:” look for “+program files”. Click on the (+) sign. Look for “+ progressive” and click on the (+) sign. Click on the “file folder of POSoft” and look on your right for “POS_3_0_User_Manual_08”. You may open this file by double clicking on it, BUT it may be easier for you to create a shortcut onto your desktop so you do not have to always find this manual. Hold the right click button down on the pos manual file, and drag it to any place on your desktop. Lift up your finger and you will see a window open…select create shortcut here. Now you can access the manual at any time by clicking on this shortcut. You may also access that manual from within POSoft 3.0 - either by pressing the F1 key, or by clicking Help, then "Posoft Help... F1".

Archwires do not order
There was a problem in mixing of patient orders in the archwire tab in early 3.0 versions. The archwires were disconnected from the order as the computer department could not find the cause. In the “87 patch” version, this was corrected by a window asking you if you wished to add the archwires to the order was installed as a temporary fix. With earlier versions (86 and below), a separate archwire order was required. You can find what version you have by clicking on “Help- about POSoft” from the menu bar.

Archwires do not save
This was a bug in early versions of 3.0. It was corrected in the “87 patch”.

Cannot import pictures in the pictures tab
there is a little used feature to stop pictures greater than 100 KB from being imported into your picture window, saving hard drive space. To disable this feature, click on “program-options”, then “uncheck ‘disable picture size check’”. Filter to auto size to your choice of KB. If the imported picture is larger than you want is scheduled for future upgrade.

Cannot relicense
Be certain that you are connected to the internet, as this is the most common problem. Click on “program-licensing” from the menu bar at any time. Click on “connect to POSoft license server”. Always “check for updates” when relicensing. If you still have problems, contact support for help. Even if your license is expired, you need to relicense every 30 days to open into your program.

Treatment Plans do not save
You must always click on the special “save” button under the treatment plan field. This is a separate save button, independent from the save features in the rest of the software.

I cannot find my second or third treatment plan downloaded
Select the treatment option you wish to view the plan for from the list on the left. Then click on “edit selected treatment option”, the button on the lower left. You should see the treatment plan. In patient report, only the marked (red) treatment options will download into the report.

The treatment history “tools” shows up in other windows
This is a “bug” that is on our list to fix. To avoid this, click on any other tab (ie. pictures, ceph, etc) before changing to the new function.

My basket is empty when I access the online store window - why?
Most likely your computer's date or time are incorrect. Move the mouse cursor over your time display (typically in the lower right corner of your Windows screen) and check your date and time. If either of them is wrong, correct it by doing a right mouse click and selecting "Adjust Date/Time".

"Bad URL" error when trying to place an order
This can be caused by non alpha-numeric characters in one of your data fields. The most likely culprit is your patient's case number. For instance, a case number like "123#45" will cause a bad URL message. Solution: use only alpha-numeric characters, like a-z, A-Z, or 0-9. Periods and spaces may also be used. Another thing to check for is zero quantitities on the IP appliance screen. For instance, if you order a replacement band for just one tooth, but with a zero quantity, you may get that Bad URL message.

DentalCAD with French language selected does not save.
Change the language (for DentalCAD only) to any other language, and restart DentalCAD.

My IP appliance and archwire info are gone.
This can happen if you add a new patient, then switch to an existing patient. It is a bug in version 3.0.91 of POSoft and will be resolved in the next release. Solution: Right after you add a new patient, you MUST click the save icon on the upper left (it looks like a floppy disk). ONLY then should you switch to another patient.

My order is missing brackets - why?
On the IP Appliance screen, when you mark a tooth as Missing, then Mesial, then Clear, the quantity remains zero and there is no warning. You may not notice since the "Qty" column may be off the screen. Then you place an order and the bracket/band for that tooth is missing. I have not checked all possible combinations, but I think this can happen with any tooth and with any type of bracket. Solution: On the bracket square in the lower right, verify the quantity. If it is 0, manually change it to a 1.
